All public bodies in Guatemala, from the national to local levels, including all government branches NGOs that receive public funds and other public state entities are required to use Guatecompras for the purchase, sale and contracting of goods, supplies, works and services, as per the Article 1 of the Decree number 57-92 of the Congreso de la República de Guatemala. The value thresholds by procurement method include:
“Baja cuantía”: from Q.00.01 to Q.25,000.00;
“Compra directa”: from Q.25,000.01 to Q.90,000.00;
“Cotización” from Q.90,000.01 to Q.900,000.00;
“Licitación”: from Q.900,000.01 onwards.
The OCDS publication excludes the following information:
Information on contests with Guatecompras Operation Number (NOG) prior to 2020-01-01.
Publications of the Número de Publicación Guatecompras (NPG) module of GUATECOMPRAS.
Publications of execution and payments corresponding or registered in the administrative financial systems of the Sistema de Gestión, Sistema de Contabilidad Integrada, Sistema de Contabilidad Integrada de Gobiernos Locales (SIAF).
